Social comparison is comparing yourself to others and is natural in our society. From a young age, we get compared to our fellow students in school, to our fellow teammates when playing sports, and possibly to our siblings by our parents/teachers/other adults. Social comparison can both be motivating and demoralizing. The key is to focus on the positive aspects.
